I am Saskia, and I lost a friend on 29 July 2047. During his teenage years, nobody believed Tom. We all were wrong. When Tom turned twenty-four, MI5 uncovered the truth, which set the world on fire: Tom was no longer ageing.
Earth was not ready for an immortal: mighty governments tried to hide Tom, and the world was preparing for war over the secret of immortality. I brokered a truce - one humankind had to accept or face extinction: sending Tom 150 years into the future on an interstellar mission.
On 29 July 2047, Tom left Earth onboard the Icarus. Six months later, the Icarus is empty. What the world doesn’t know is that Tom has changed the mission. Only I know: immortality is not his only secret.
